The Workshop Co-op is a shared community workshop and laboratory operating on the fundamental principals known colloquially as a “Makerspace”.

Workshop Co-op is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, shared community workshop and laboratory.

We are an organized group of local artists, engineers, makers, thinkers, and tinkers who are passionate about what we do and joined together in order to fill a seldom-noticed learning and working gap in our community. Our focus is to provide tools, space, and learning resources to you, the public. We have combined our collected resources to provide an easy way to collaborate on individual and community projects and to serve as a way to promote science, technology, and art. We believe that collaboration is a truly effective form of learning.

To that end, our members and volunteers teach classes, hold unique educational events, and collaborate on cool projects, while providing space and resources to allow our community the opportunity to work and experiment on innovate ideas and to encourage learning within our community.

Workshop Co-op

Makerspaces have been called everything from a FabLab to a Techshop to a hackerspace. We’re calling ours a “co-op” because we’re a cooperative collaboration between peoples covering many gamuts. Although makerspaces go by many different names, the fundamental ideologies are the same – providing space, technology, and resources to make amazing things happen.

Every makerspace is unique and the projects that are worked on inside of them are also very diverse.

Here are just some of the things you can do in a makerspace :

  • Coding
  • 3d printing
  • Laser cutting
  • Soldering
  • Electronics / Arduino
  • Robot building / Robotics
  • Learn Circuits and Electricity with paper circuits
  • Sewing
  • Wood working
  • Take-a-part sessions
  • Inventing
